A Weekend of Celebrations

This past weekend was Wesley's birthday and our anniversary. Wesley turned the big 3-0 on Saturday, so we had a birthday party for him on Friday night. Parties at our house mean inviting the youth over. I made cupcakes as requested by the birthday boy, and we ordered pizza. We had a great time hanging out with the kids, playing games and bonding. It was a great night. The next day, Wes' real birthday, we went and ate at Barbara Jean's in Ponte Vedra, one of Wesley's favorite restaurants.
Happy Birthday, Wes! We love you very much!

Monday was our 7th anniversary, our first anniversary as a family. Usually, we would go off for a romantic weekend, but this year we celebrated with a family day. It was so nice, and it really hit me that we are a family. What a wonderful feeling! That day we went to Amelia Island. We took the scenic route on the way up there driving up the coast, and then we went to Fort Clinch, which is a Civil War fort, just to look around.
It was a very hot, sunny day, so we covered Micah up with sunscreen and kept him in the shade as much as possible. He did so great in his stroller, which made our day even better. After the fort we walked around the downtown area and got ice cream. We had a lot of fun together as a family!
This year, although we didn't have a super romantic weekend getaway, seemed even more special than any other anniversary. Wes and I seem to be at such a great place in our life together. I love him more now than I ever could imagine. I love our life together! Biblically speaking, the number 7 is the number of perfection or completion. It may take us to our 77th anniversary to say that our marriage is perfect, but I feel so complete in our marriage. I love being married to him, and I am so proud to be his wife. I love watching him at home with me and Micah. He is our protector and provider. He jumps in any time I need him to help with Micah. He loves spending time with us. I also love to watch him at church and with our youth. He is the most caring, compassionate, kind, and loving person that I know. He loves those kids so much. He enjoys being with them and talking to them and really wants God's best for each one of them. Wesley is an amazing guy, and I am so glad that he is mine. I love him more today than ever before. He is my best friend. He is the one that I want to share everything with. He knows me inside and out and loves me anyway. He comforts and calms me. He makes me smile and laugh. He takes care of me and is always there for me. He is everything that God knew I needed.
Happy Anniversary, Wes! I love you so much!

Our month in review

This past month has been exciting and full of special moments. We started Micah's 3rd month with a trip to the doctor.
The doctor said he looks great and is healthy and growing. Micah also had to have shots, but he was a champ. He only cried a little, and as soon as I picked him up he stopped. The rest of the day he was pretty much out of it due to the shots and Tylenol.

The next big event was the birth of Hayden. It was an exciting day for my family, welcoming another sweet boy into our lives. Hayden is doing well. He is just so tiny next to Micah. I have only held him once because someone else always has him, but soon Micah and I will have Hayden all to ourselves.

Graduation was our next big event. I put Micah in the baby bjorn, and he did great.
He even fell asleep while we waited to hear Thomas' name. Congrats Thomas! We are so proud of you!

This week, Hovey turned 3. He is such a big boy now, but he will always be my sweet little boy.
We went to his birthday party on Sunday, and as you can tell from the cake and Micah's ears, he had a Mickey Mouse birthday party.

As far as Micah's new tricks, he is discovering his feet, cooing like crazy, and rolling over.

Micah also has a new favorite toy.
We bought him a Jumparoo, and he loves it because he can sit up and see everything and he is free to jump and move. Everyday is an exciting day with him. I love watching him as he discovers the world around him. He loves to look around, so when we are out in restaurants or stores, the car seat is not good enough and Mommy has to hold him so that he can see it all. He is such a joy, and his smile is priceless.
