The Newest Creech

Hayden Eric Creech was born on Monday, May 18th.  He is 7 lbs. 10 oz. and 19 in. long.  He looks alot different than Hovey did, but he has the Creech chin and button lip just like Hovey and Micah.  We look forward to getting to know this sweet little boy, and I'm sure that Hayden and Micah will be best buddies.  Hayden's Mommy and Daddy (Laurie and Charlie) are also doing well and are very excited about their growing family.

A Memorable Mother's Day Moment

Today was my very first Mother's Day, and Micah made it very special for me.  First of all, he gave me a sweet card and a Willow Tree figurine.  Then at church, we had an unforgettable moment.  Before Sunday School, we were sitting in the youth room, and I was giving Micah his bottle.  He then began to grunt, like usual, and do his business.  He had not pooped in two days, so I told him to go ahead and poop it out.  So he did.  I decided to go ahead and change him because I knew his diaper would be full.  When I picked him up to go change him, I discovered the gift of all gifts.  My lap was completely covered in baby poo.  The poop was dripping off of his leg and out of his clothes.  It was as if he had spilled a whole bottle of mustard all over my black and white dress.  Did I mention today was baby dedication day?  That means we would have to be up in front of the church, and we were both covered in yellow poo!  Wesley was just about to begin teaching Sunday School, and I sent out a desperate cry for help.  Somehow we managed to take care of the situation without our youth knowing.  Wesley helped me clean myself up enough to walk into one of our side rooms to finish cleaning Micah and to change his diaper and clothes.  Now that he was cleaned up, I had to rush home to change clothes.  It was now 10:26.  We live 20min from the church, and church starts at 11:00.  I knew that there were 4 songs before baby dedication, so that gave me a little bit of extra time.  I asked the pastor's wife to stall, and headed out the door.  All the way home, I prayed for green lights and for God to stop time for me.  Amazingly, I made it home, changed my clothes, put Micah in another nice outfit, and got back to church 1 song before baby dedication.  I was out of breathe, but this was something I will never forget.  Every year we will remember this, and vow to tell this story at Micah's wedding.  Hope you all had a memorable Mother's Day as well.

Micah's 1st Trip to the Beach

Monday, we decided to get out of the house and do something fun, so we took Micah to the beach for the first time.  Wes and I love the beach.  We love to go and walk on the beach and listen to the waves crash.  It is one of our favorite places to just be together, so we wanted to introduce our special place to Micah.  Wesley really wanted to put Micah's feet in the water, but since it was evening and windy and cool I was afraid it would be too cold for his little feet.  So Wesley just settled for putting his feet in the wet sand.  Micah seemed to enjoy the beach.  He loves to be outside, so I think this will be one of his favorite places too.  I look forward to building many sand castles with him and playing in the water one day soon.
